Even Now (2010-02-09 00:00:00) So after a short hiatus, we're back in business. Fixed some small problems with code around the site, and patched up a few holes. Taking a network security class is definitely paranoia fodder, but at least now we know how to fix some stuff.
Got a cool surprise in the works, so stay tuned. Keep enjoying Hunger Mania.
Back into the Groove (2009-12-01 00:00:00) Sorry about the wait, ladies and gentlemen. Between a tuition increase at school and applying to MIT for my masters, things have been a little hectic for the site updatin'. No worries though; with things figured out, at least as much as they're going to be figured, we can move ahead.
ShapeGame, for those of you who look at the In Progress section, is going along rather nicely. Basic UI is up, units are created and the AI should be up and running in a few weeks, leading to us allowing a possible Beta before we release.
That asked, I'll be trying to code up some new features for the site, namely a poll. For now, you can just e-mail us with the answer! The question is this: Should ShapeGame be released for the PC, XBox 360, or both? You guys decide, so get to e-mailin'. Score->AP? (2009-09-19 00:00:00) Introducing Archrival Highscores, our new highscore system! Now, if you beat Hunger Mania, you'll be able to enter your high score into our table, and the user with the high score at the end of each month gets a chance to win something nice!
Also, some of you might have noticed that in Hunger Mania's last update, we introduced a Log In feature. Yeah, we're working on something huge here, and those of you exposed to Hunger Mania are just looking at the tip of the ice berg. We'll be explaining more as the next two months go by, but suffice it to say that you'll want to sign up as soon as possible and start collecting AP!
... so why are you still reading this? Get to signing up and playing! Updates and Etc (2009-09-09 00:00:00) Excitement abounds here at Archrival.
So, the works-in-progress page is finally up. We're showcasing four of our projects that are currently in development - they're all text for now, but as work continues we'll be posting images and et cetera in a specially designated spot on the site.
We're also working on a donation section, where you can either a) pay us for being awesome or b) pay us to create something for you. We'll be accepting Flash sponsors (although, honestly, we prefer artificial/computational intelligence work), website creation, anything you'd like us to make for you. You can even have our dedicated Creative Sector draw you a pretty picture.
We'll also post an update to Hunger Mania with a few new things people have been begging for. Enjoy! Nice and toasty... (2009-08-26 00:00:00) Work continues on our sister site, and on the control panel for this site. Soon a Works-In-Progress page will be up, as well as a downloadable .exe for HungerMania.
I'm sure by now you've noticed all of the toast pictures on the site; well, it's a consequence of our new advertisement system, and until we get additional advertisers, it will probably stay that way.
Of course, if you really felt like it, you could always advertise yourself.
We also have some exciting news about 4 coming projects, which should blow everyone away, including an open-source RTS game. Gird your loins, folks.
Time to get Hungry. (2009-08-16 00:00:00) The first Archrival Studios game has finally been finished: HungerMania! It'll be the featured game and, as we develop the site, it will be one of the products at the forefront of our growth.
For now we're working on two more games and trying to build the site up. Updates and the like will be quicker to come as soon as the control panel is complete (it's hard to go through the system currently, which is why blogs are so far between).
There's going to be plenty of changes to the site's content soon, so keep an eye open and enjoy the new game! Into the Drawing Board... (2009-08-01 00:00:00)
We're finally getting up to speed a little bit. Hopefully we'll posting the first full article in a couple of weeks and the first game we've developed in Flash, but we'll actually be setting up a sort of "drawing board" or "launching pad" on our sister site, VirtualSammich.
You'll need a name and password to log into VirtualSammich, but e-mail us and we'll probably give you one.
Welcome! (2009-06-30 20:59:02) Welcome to Archrival Studios, an up-and-coming artificial intelligence and gaming community. As you can see, the site is slowly being built from the ground up. Feel free to browse what we do have, and definitely bookmark us if you like what you see. |
